Hotels in Sicily, Italy

Sicily is a large Mediterranean island off Italy's southwestern coast, famous for its ancient Greek temples at Agrigento and Mount Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano. Summers are hot and dry (average high 86°F/30°C), drawing you to sandy beaches and snorkeling in the clear waters off the Egadi Islands, while mild winters (around 55°F/13°C) are perfect for exploring Palermo's 12th-century Norman palace and enjoying local street food like arancini without the crowds. On the east coast, you can hike Etna's volcanic slopes, and on the west coast, visit the salt flats and windmills near Trapani.
